President
Sergio R. Rodriguez was elected President of the Los Tainos Executive Board on November of 2010. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from D'Youville College and an AS in Business from Medaille College. He received his Six Sigma Yellow Belt training and certification from the University at Buffalo’s Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering and the Center for Industrial Effectiveness.
Rodriguez is a veteran of the United States Marines and recipient of the 2010 Small Business Administration Veteran Small Business Champion of the Year Award for New York State and Region II, which covers New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the U. S. Virgin Islands. As chairman of the WNY Hispanic Veterans Memorial Committee and the Veterans and Military Friendly Schools Consortium of WNY, Mr. Rodriguez brings leadership experience running effective committees to the Los Tainos executive board. Mr. Rodriguez is publisher of The Childhood Adventures of Santa Claus children's book series and currently manages Medaille College’s Office of Veterans and Military Affairs. He was born in The Dominican Republic and resides in Buffalo, NY. ![]() Carmen Palma
Executive Director
Carmen I. Palma is a licensed real estate salesperson with RealtyUSA at the Tonawanda, NY office. She has professional memberships with the National Association of Realtors, the Buffalo Niagara Association of Realtors and the New York State Association of Realtors. As a native of Puerto Rico, Carmen is strongly committed to helping the aging Hispanic community at Los Tainos Center. She looks forward to serving the board to the best of her abilities. She became the Executive Director of the Los Tainos Senior Citizens Center in February of 2011.

Treasurer
Carmen Maria Diaz-Doeseckle has been serving as Assistant Vice President and branch manager at M&T Bank in Buffalo, NY since 1990. She is a member of the Puerto Rican Day Parade Committee and currently serves as treasurer of the Los Tainos Senior Citizens Center.

Sergeant-at-Arms
Jovino Morales has been a member of the West Side for the past 40 years. Through his company, Jovino Property Property & Financial Management Corporation, he has been in the real estate business for over 18 years. His company has been able to leverage over $1.2 million of investments dollars into Erie and Niagara Counties. He also is founder and current Board President of the Latino Housing Development Corporation. This local nonprofit founded in 2007 has focused on economic development, job creation, tenant training, small business development and leadership development. Jovino is the current Sargent at Arms at Los Tainos, where he has served in various capacities since 2002. He brings institutional knowledge and Board Governance skills from his work with United Way to the Board of Los Tainos.

Mission Statement
Los Tainos' mission is to provide broad based services to low income senior citizens to improve their quality of life. Los Tainos is dedicated to preserving those traditional Hispanic values that strengthen community life: respeto (respect), love of community, group cooperation, friendliness, cultural pride in one's own culture, cross-cultural respect, the family, viewing children as the community's future, the home, responsibility to neighbors, love of Hispanic folkart and cuisine.
Los Tainos was formerly housed from 1991-1997 on the second floor of the Father Belle Community Center, 104 Maryland, located in the heart of the Hispanic community.
