Los Tainos' success is due to the hard work of hundreds of volunteers over more than 40 years. Your donations make it possible to support these volunteers, and pay our few employees to continue our mission.

Donations are made to the Los Tainos Senior Citizens Center, a corporation registered in the US State of New York. Los Tainos is approved as a charitable 501(c)(3) organization by the US Internal Revenue Service, and has the Federal Employee Information Number (EIN) 22-3256832.

Funding Information

Los Tainos activities and programs are maintained through two primary sources; fund-raising and, to a lesser extent, government funding. While fund-raising efforts are ongoing and strenuous, it is important to keep in mind that most of the members are advanced in age and are simply unable to raise large amounts of money.

In addition, government funding has been very modes and less than adequate in meeting their actual fiscal needs. Therefore, it is safe to characterize the organization as poor. Thankfully, Father Belle provides space to the group at not charge, but even with this assistance, the organization is always struggling. Efforts to request funds from area foundations and corporations are underway to supplement their current funds. Most recently, Los Tainos has added a catering service, coined "La Mesa de Las Abuelitas" ( The Grandmothers Table) to generate revenue for its services.
